Routine HIV Testing: Recommended, but Are We Ready?
The CDC recommends routinely testing almost every adult and adolescent in the United States to find the 250,000 residents who are estimated to be infected with HIV but don’t know it. It’s one of the most profound public health initiatives ever undertaken, but is the U.S. health care system ready to carry out this recommendation or to care for a deluge of new cases?
