Lesson AIDS Dementia Complex (ADC)
en español

email

Can it be prevented?

ADC is the result of two situations: immune suppression caused by HIV and the direct effects of HIV in the brain. Anti-HIV drugs, particularly those discussed in the last section of this lesson, can help prevent ADC, provided that treatment is started before immune suppression occurs (less than 200 T-cells).
