Advice on Speeding the Search for an HIV Vaccine

A new report by the Global HIV Vaccine Enterprise (GHVE) outlines the challenges in developing an AIDS vaccine and recommends ways to accelerate research, according to a GHVE statement. Key recommendations in the report titled Road to Prevention include building aggressively on recent laboratory and clinical trial advances, increasing data sharing among researchers, attracting new ideas to vaccine research and broadening funding sources for research.

I keep saying it. Until all of the scientists join forces to find a cure or a vaccine, none of this will happen. HIV should be treated as everyone's problem. There are too many other fields for the Pharma companies to make money and they will not go bankcrupt. HIV is an emergency that needs to be addressed promptly before it gets out of hands. We are in a crucial moment and we must take advantage of the opportunities to defeat this scourge. HIV is not and should not be a money-making virus.
